A "very large scale integration" control chip, designed exclusively for Cambridge Audio by Sony, is said to dynamically adjust focus, tracking and output level of the laser for maximized data retrieval. A unique jog shuttle controls next/previous track selection and fast forward/rewind. Very surprising in this price sector is a massive BNC-fitted digital output next to a more common optical TosLink (BNC is a superior digital interface connector normally found only on the most expensive digital gear).
