"Jeff Mills has taken a pretty interesting approach to his latest limited release, The Occurrence. The record is released on a “hybrid CD”, meaning that the CD and the vinyl record are one of the same.
The idea is that one side of the record is a normal CD that plays on a normal CD player, the other side is a 5″ vinyl pressing that you can play on a regular turntable. Digital beautifully married with analogue.
The release is part of his ‘Sleeper Wakes’ series which Mills has undertaken to explore new sounds and unique ways to present them. This has got to be one of the coolest and creative media for a release I’ve seen in a long time. Jeff Mills – hats off to you, my friend."
