Balanced Hyperlitz® construction with FPS™ silver, teflon insulation and welded FPC copper plugs.
AudioQuest® Hyperlitz design allows for the advantages of multiple conductors while eliminating strand interaction. Hyperlitz design ensures clarity, smoothness and dynamics not possible in other designs.
Functionally Perfect Silver™ (FPS) is used because the high purity and long crystal structure combined with the inherent advantages of pure solid silver greatly reduces distortion compared to all coppers.
Teflon is used because the insulating material next to any conductor becomes part of the electrical circuit. Teflon is unfortunately very expensive, but it is the best material for minimizing the distortion caused by the insulation. The result is superior dynamics and resolution.
The AudioQuest #1910 RCA plug features an unusual design that ensures superior electrical contact with your RCA jack. The #1910 plug is made with FPC copper which is directly plated with gold – there is no harmful nickel under the gold.
Special welding equipment sends 5,000 to 8,000 amperes of current through the connection between the cable and die plug over a period of 33.3 millionths of a second. The result is an ideal connection where the molecules of the cable and the plug are actually comingled.
The low capacitance of AudioQuest Lapis™ prevents high frequency losses and allows for the use of long runs, even with passive control units.
The 100% shield coverage prevents interference.

Directions
It is important to use Lapis cable in the direction that sounds best in your system. This will almost always be with the plug with a single printed band (plus the plastic band) at the sending end and the plug with the double printed hand (plus the plastic band ) at the receiving end. For example, the single printed (#1) end at the CD player and the double printed (#2) at the preamp.
With some equipment the cable will sound better with the ends reversed. This is unusual, but does happen mostly with the cable plugged into the power amp. If the performance is irritating or prone to noise pick-up you probably need to turn the cable around.
