а его боязнь заключалась в том, что он переживал, что кабель имеет токопроводящий экран (оболочку) и коннекторы, и поэтому не будет гальванической развязки между компьютером и ЦАПом. но почему-то она была. это и не удивительно.
короче, его опасения - фигня.

p.s. но звуком кабеля он остался недоволен.

Может и фигня его описание, но как вы читали или не дочитали?
Возможно я и запутался немного, но тут же ясно написано:

After I bought a Tripp Lite power surge protector/line filter, the problem disappeared.

I am not suggesting you should spend $300 to make a $70 cable work right. "
